Are materials included in the tuition?
Some materials are included such the manuals and some product used for the practical training. Additional costs include uniform, stationery, towels etc. Please refer to individual courses for details.

How do I pay for tuition?
By direct deposit to First Caribbean Bank, the account number is provided. An initial deposit (20% of the total cost of the course) plus a $100 administration fee is required to register. The balance is due no later than 4th week of class.

How do I register?
You will need to complete a registration form and an interview will be scheduled between you and the tutor. Once you are accepted into the programme, a deposit (20% of the total cost of the course) plus a $100 administration fee is required to confirm registration.

Do I have to do extra study at home?
All relevant materials are covered during class. However, it is strongly recommended that you do additional studying.

How are we tested?
Every week for the first 10 weeks you will have a test on the material covered during the previous week. A review is done at the end of the week so that you have an idea on what will be covered on the exam. These tests are important for the tutor to assess your understanding of the material covered thus far.

Do I have to wear a uniform?
Yes a uniform is required. The pattern of the uniform is provided at time of registration.

When do I get my certificate?
You are certified after successfully completing the theory, practical and on-the-job training. A time will be scheduled between yourself and the tutor to complete a second assessment. Having received a passing grade, you will receive a certificate or diploma (depending on the course).

You must get a minimum overall grade of 75% to successfully complete the programme. The marks are distributed as follows: 40% theory, 50% practical and 10% attendance and participation.

As a practicing therapist, how do I get certified?
An assessment is required to determine your knowledge and skill level in the treatments. The tutor will create an individualized training schedule based on the treatments to be certified.

What is the class schedule?
If you are completing the course as a full-time student, classes are Monday to Friday 9-3 p.m. and as a part-time student Monday to Thursday 5-7 p.m.

Are classes conducted on statutory holidays?
No, classes are not conducted on holidays.

What if I have a disability?
We do not discriminate against individuals with a disability. Please advise us accordingly so that we can cater to your needs.

What is the method of learning?
It is a combination of lectures for the theory and weekly tests in a classroom setting and practical training of the treatments. The classes are interactive; therefore we recommend that you participate during classroom discussions.

Are there any prerequisites?
Yes, depending on the treatments that you will like to complete. Refer to individual course outline for details.

Do I have to be nude during practical training?
This is optional depending on your comfort level. Students are paired off during practical. Some massages do require you to be nude to experience the full benefit of the treatment as well as to understand the client’s experience. However, you are discreetly covered and only the area being massaged is exposed. Should you have any concerns, you can discuss them with the tutor.

What is expected of me (conduct)?
We expect you to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times on or off premises as you are representing the school. While on premises, please stay in the area available to you. Please be mindful that we promote a serene environment. The building is shared with the affiliated spa, Escape Ste Lisi; furthermore, potential students also walk-in to inquire about the courses.
